Zurich-Lucerne-Bernina Express-Lake Como Itinerary
We spent a total of about two weeks in Switzerland & Italy, starting in Zurich, driving to Lucerne and taking the Bernina Express down to Italy.
4 nights in Zurich — just right
4 nights in Lucerne — three would have done it
5 nights in Lake Como — just right; with some relaxing pool time built in
GT Tips: We went a little out of our way (car to train to car to ferry to car) getting from Lucerne to Lake Como in order to ride on the Bernina Express. If you aren’t excited (though you should be) about taking a 5 hour Alpine train ride thru the Alps, then there are faster ways to get from Lucerne to Lake Como!
